Iconic Wedding Venue with Photogenic Surroundings

Banking Hall has a rich history serving as the headquarters of Lloyd’s Bank until 2002. Beautifully and sensitively converted into a remarkable event space, it still retains many of the original features, offering a sense of historical grandeur as well as an abundance of character and charm, making it the perfect backdrop and natural home for elegant wedding ceremonies and receptions.

The long, grand Main Hall is fit for a regal banquet and comes with a built-in stage and dance floor. The Counting Room, a smaller space on the mezzanine level, overlooks the Bank of England and features a stunning brass-topped bar that makes it a great break out space for drinks or relaxing after your wedding breakfast.

  1. People couldn’t stop talking about the venue - the chicken was a particular hit - best I’ve ever had, and the overall service from the staff was good. Sandro was great, constantly around and making sure everything was okay. Everything was seamless with the suppliers and I was never without a piña colada!! I probably drank the bar dry of Pineapple juice. So again, we both had the most incredible day!

Our 5 steps to your perfect wedding

  1. You're engaged!

    If the newlyweds we party with all year round are anything to go by, the first thing you did, after the shock and delight of the proposal, was make a list – who do you want to invite? Banking Hall can seat up to 280 guests for dinner in the main hall, up to 800 for a standing reception, and we also have intimate spaces for smaller affairs. We’ve got you covered!

  2. DIY or don’t lift a finger?

    Obviously you are our main VIP – if you say you want to handle the flowers, the music and the decorations, that’s fine by us. BUT we have really special relationships with our year round VIPs (Vendors in Partnership) who can provide flowers, hotels, DJs, photobooths, the works. We’re happy to talk you through all the options and put together a package that works with your budget.

    Our food and beverage offering is truly one of a kind. Whether it’s a sit down meal, or our ‘Cornucopia Counters’ we have something to suit you!

  4. With you every step

    Our experienced and dedicated events planners are on hand from start to finish so you can actually enjoy the build up, and the big day! We have packages to take the stress out of decision making, or we’re more than happy to put together a bespoke event if you want to add your own personal touches. Once we’ve had a chat, we’ll invite you to come down and meet us, while we show you around the venue.

Frequently asked questions

Do you allow ceremonies in the venue and if so is there a ceremony fee?

Yes, your civil ceremony must be booked through Islington Council, we can put you in touch if required. The charge to turn the room around in between ceremony and reception is £1200 plus VAT.

Do we have to use your caterers?

All catering is done internally through our chefs, however if you require external catering for cultural or religious reasons we can offer dry hire – costings vary throughout the year so please let us know and we will be happy to help.

Do you charge corkage?

Yes, price available upon request.

Do you provide a wedding coordinator on the day?

You will be allocated a dedicated wedding planner. They will arrange planning meetings and menu tastings with you in the lead up to the big day. During these meetings you will meet the operations team at the venue, and they will run your event on the day.

What is the capacity for the building?

We can accommodate the following capacities:

700 guests for a standing reception.
280 guests for a seated dinner. Please bear in mind that these capacities may vary depending on additional AV and Production you may require.
Speak to one of our Sales Team for further information – we are always happy to turn the room around after your Wedding Breakfast so that you can party the night away.

What elements of your Wedding packages are customisable?

All elements of our packages are customisable but please note that any changes may result in a price increase.

Is there parking available at the venue?

Unfortunately we don’t have any parking available at the venue. Speak to a member of our team to find out about car parks nearby.

Do you hold more than one event at the same time?

No. Banking Hall is always hired exclusively so you can use the spaces as you wish without the concern of another event running alongside yours.
